About Simon

Simon has been fighting fires and providing fire safety advice since joining Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service in 1987. Promoted to Sub Officer in 1994 and then joining the Fire Safety Protection Team at Suffolk Fire & Rescue Service in 2000, he's had the pleasure of working with small and large businesses, charities, stadiums and Council buildings.

Seconded in 2010 to HM Government to initially advise on Fire Safety in Government owned buildings (prisons, hospitals and airports), Simon then advised at the 2012 London Olympics on Fire Safety.

Since starting SCH Fire Safety, he has worked with hotel chains alongside their Safety Executives, restaurants providing and implementing Risk Assessments, farm shops on Fire Safety and has advised Universities on their Fire Risk Assessments, Fire Safety Training, Evacuation, post fire audits and ensuring the campus complies with the Fire Safety Order.

Outside of work, Simon is an active Member and Secretary of the Institute of Fire Engineers, Executive Council Member of the Institute of Fire Protection Officers and UK Secretary  for Firefighters for Christ. As part of the latter, I engage in annual humanitarian trips to the Phillipines: providing training and support to Phillipino Firefighters.

I provide services to clients in East Anglia, London and beyond. From strategic planning to innovative solutions, my focus is always on building an efficient and results-driven relationship. I’ll work with you to create a customised plan of action for yourself or your organisation and ensure that your business complies with The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
